Practical application:
A gang of six individuals forcibly enters a bank and robs it, stealing large sums of money while threatening the staff and customers. Since the crime involves more than five persons acting together in committing the robbery, it qualifies as dacoity under IPC Section 395. In this case, all members of the group are liable for the offense of dacoity and can be sentenced to life imprisonment or rigorous imprisonment for up to 10 years, along with a fine. This ensures that the law applies to organized criminal activities involving multiple perpetrators, deterring group-based violent robberies. Conclusion
